Pletz Construction was recently honored and chosen to construct the new Toby Conner AG Complex for Schertz-Cibolo Universal City ISD. This state-of-the-art AG Building will be home to student -raised livestock including steer, hogs, sheep, turkey and chickens. With over 26,000 square feet, this facility will allow the school district to make AG Studies available to more students than ever. A sample of some of the highlights incorporated into this building are: a removable pen system for the animals, misting system, medication system and a rain water collection system to capture runoff from the roof.
The complex is a Pre-Engineered Building featuring open side walls which will have an insulated curtain that can be lowered in cold weather or provide shade in warm weather. Included is a climate- controlled room for raising chickens. Pletz Construction has worked closely with the school district and OCO Architects to incorporate Value Engineering which has saved the taxpayers money without sacrificing quality.
